If you need help when we are closed

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

GP Extended Hours

The Extended Access Service has more appointments with GPs available, making it easier for you to get an appointment at a time that suits you, including evenings and weekends.

How do I book an appointment?

Contact your GP practice in the usual way to request an appointment. If there is no appointment available at your practice, they may offer you an appointment with the GP Extended Access Service, if this is right for you.

If your practice is closed and you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or Call 111. They may also be able to book an appointment for you with the GP Extended Access Service.

Please note that your consent will be required in order for an appointment to be booked for you.

When We Are Closed

If you become ill outside of our opening hours and cannot wait until we open again you can contact the Out-of-Hours services by calling the main surgery number and you will be connected to them.

Call 111 when it’s less urgent than 999.

You can also visit the NHS Walk-In Centre at Summerfield Primary Care Centre or any other around your area.

In case of not getting through to the OUT of Hour phone ring 111 or 999.

Your Local Pharmacist

Your local pharmacist will be able to give you free health advice at any time, you don’t need an appointment.  Many pharmacies operate extended hours on a rota basis.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

GP consultation Hours and Extended surgery time

Our staff is trained to ask patients some simple questions about why they need to see the clinician. This would help the receptionist or clinician to make the right choice when booking the appointment. The receptionist then can book the patients in one of the following appointments: Pre bookable, Same day/ Urgent, same day, Face to face, Online/ Remote Triage, Remote consultation, Telephone consultation, Video consultation, Practice Nurse appointment, HCA appointment.

We do our best to give you choice of your appointment, but sometimes due to availability we have to adjust accordingly. We try to book an appointment of your choice for your GP depending on the availability.
